Motoblade MBX 50

What would you get if you crossed a motorcycle with a skateboard? A likely result would be the Motoblade landboard!

The Motoblade MBX 50 gas powered landboard is a great ride for all board sport enthusiasts, whether surf, snow or skate.  The Motoblade's patented design makes this four wheeled board handle more like a two wheeled bike. It easily cruises at full throttle with virtually no speed wobbles, yet still carves great into and out of corners.  Just as a bike can lean hard into turns, the deck of a Motoblade can tilt up to forty degrees.

Although referred to as a 'board', there isn't really a board in the familiar sense. While there are two deck sections to stand on, there is no actual board element. Instead the whole chassis, made from aircraft grade aluminum, constitutes the riding and operating structure.  Steering and control of the Motoblade is a function of harnessing the forces created by leaning it left and right and putting pressure on the rear outer control wheels, which move up and down and tilt in tandem with the inline wheels. These forces are then transferred to the singular front wheel, making it turn in the chosen direction. It is this dynamic relationship between the rear control wheels and the front wheel that gives the board its great handling characteristics.

The Motoblade's proprietary Quadra-flex steering and shock absorbing system includes a center monoshock, two sets of fork compression springs and a floating front axle.  These four sub systems all work together to give the rider a sense of floating over the ground while maintaining superior control. A rear disc brake and a front foot friction brake provide just the right stopping power for a landboard with no handlebars.

The MBX 50 is powered by a high quality Honda 48cc 4-stroke engine, which produces smooth power, low noise, and low emissions. It can cruise at 25+ MPH, and travel up to 18 miles on a tank of regular unleaded gas. (No pre-mix).  The throttle and brake levers are located on a hand held control baton that is connected to the board by a reinforced cable tether. Each Motoblade comes with a Squeezeplay padded grip rod, a feature that allows riders to grip the board without being overly attached to it.

These boards work great on pavement, dirt, grass, hard sand, and can ever go on compact snow and ice.  They're not too big, at 53” inches in length and weigh under 50 lbs, so it's fairly easy to load one up for that camping trip.  Bring along a gallon of regular gas and your good for days!
